The prematurely departed Russian poet Boris Borisovich Ryzhy in one of his philosophical poems bequeathed these lines to the quality of the epigraph to all of his work.
Therefore, it is hardly worth starting a story about his life and work differently.
Poets are not born by accident
Two of these different Russian poet in something similar. The first is the 19th century poet Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov. Brilliantly educated, brave. After Pushkin's death, the most talented Russian poet of his time. Unrecognized, unrecognized during life. Scandalist and fatalist, extra-sensory gifted. His life was cut short at the age of 27. The fatal duel with Martynov was more like suicide: the poet intentionally bore, mocked, mocked the officer, knowing full well that he would not miss.
The second is Boris the Red. His poems were appreciated not only in Russia, but also in Europe. Boris ended his life by suicide three months before the execution of 27 years. According to many critics, he is the most talented Russian poet of the 90s of last century. From the history of his departure from life mystifies.
Boris distinguished the phenomenal education. He powerfully continued the tradition of talented poets of the second half of the XX century: David Samoilov, Boris Slutsky, Alexander Kushner. He managed to return to lost his poetry lost musicality. His work is noticeable even now: the living modern poets (meaning Polina Barskova, Maxim Amelin, Vsevolod Zelchenko) were never able to surpass the level of creativity given to them.
The poet's death turned out to be unexpected, stunning for the people around: the body hung on the balcony door of his apartment in his native Yekaterinburg, and next to it was a posthumous note. Her text ended with the words: "I loved everyone. Without fools. "
Motives of creativity. Readers' Opinions
Let us return to a comparative analysis of the personalities of Lermontov and the Red. What is between the two mentioned poets in common? Answering this question, it is necessary to get acquainted with the reviews of admirers of the poetry of Boris the Red. Undoubtedly, they are both the most educated intellectuals of their time, rebels and fatalists. Their worldview in something similar, has related features:
- the unacceptability of the contemporary vicious, unmerciful public order relying on suppression of dissent;
- cooled youthful spirit, however, has already learned, absorbed in itself to the brim all the bitterness of the indifference of the world;
- a living soul, seeing through and seeing in the ordinary hidden Evil, with which for some reason and for a long time have reconciled;
- the mind of a fatalist, who has learned the impotence of his desire to change the world for the better.
Childhood, studies, the work of Boris the Red
Who is he, the tempter of his fate, the poet Boris Red? His biography is so short, but rich.
He was born on September 8, 1974 in the family of a geophysical scientist in the regime town of Chelyabinsk-40. Six years later, the family moved to live in Sverdlovsk.
How did it happen that an unexpected unexpected powerful talent appeared anomalously in a provincial guy not from a creative environment? About this, perhaps, is only known to God. Boris, who lives a domestic life, knows how to stand up for himself, greedily absorbing the concepts of the Sverdlovsk criminal world, at the same time he was distinguished by his unique linguistic education, astonishing reading, literacy. He was notable for his remarkable intuition in understanding and evaluating the literary process.
How could such a combination be in one person? All the same, the creative principle was, in him, certainly primary, and the criminal style was superficial. Perhaps this was the protest of the professor's son against the society that is currently in deep crisis. In 1991 he entered the Mining Institute, and in 1987 - the Ural Mining Academy, in 2000 - postgraduate study. About this period of his life, Boris the Red will write:
Briefly about the poet's work
At the age of 14, Boris wrote his first poems, and at the same age won the Sverdlovsk championship in boxing. This combination of the musicality of poetry and hard male sport prompted the poet immediately, from his literary start, writing inordinately, piercingly and with anguish. Later, his talent was developed during his studies at the Ural Mining Institute. under the influence of the mentor (poet and wonderful man) Yuri Lobantsev. Already at that time his style appeared: tense, but filled with melody.
The chronology of the landmarks of his short creative work reflects only a few dates:
- 1992 - publication in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta;
- 1997 - in the literary magazine Zvezda;
- since 1999 - in the literary magazine "Znamya";
- in 2000 the poet was awarded the "Antibuker" prize.
In 2000, in the well-known series of poetic publications "Autograph" came out the only lifetime collection of poems of the poet.
Marriage. The birth of a son
In the first year of the institute the poet Boris Ryzhy was married. Wife Irina two years later gave birth to his son Anton. Despite the sociable nature and the periodic "libations with friends" (this demanded the Sverdlovsk unwritten street code of honor), the poet was a monogamous person. However, as you understand (business worldly), his family life was not without quarrels.
In the "family" of Boris the Red one can see the very case of love of the whole, real, not falsifying person in anything, about which the Briton Bob Marley sang so sincerely: "One love, one hart". Boris fell in love with the school and since then his feelings have never cooled in him ever, often he devoted to his wife amazing poems by their tenderness.
A talented man is talented in everything. Boris Ryzhy wrote 18 scientific works on the structure of the Earth's crust of the Urals and its seismicity, worked as a junior researcher at the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, participated in expeditions. In parallel, he led a column in a literary magazine.
Creative rethinking of his native city
Somehow, the genes of his father, the doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, were reborn in him, they were refracted so that Boris began to feel a subtle, soul-touching poetry where another person would see only a collapsed building with the industrial name of the last century "vtorchermet."
The poet provides an opportunity for his readers to experience this uncomfortable, gray, gaping window of shabby houses perestroika Sverdlovsk, with such artistically perfect power with which Andrei Tarkovsky in the movie "Stalker" shows an anomalous zone.
By nature a bully and a knight
All snobbery was decidedly alien to him. He recognized only those poets from the literary get-together, whose poetry resonated with his heart, and was not mistaken. Even his first literary awards, he went to receive, only to see the jury of those who respected for creativity.
Boris (in literature or in life) has always remained himself. He created high poetry, weaving into it the typical words that everyday ordinary children talked about, and they were not used. The poet himself was actively adopting, savoring, the informal manners of fellow countrymen who have criminal experience. Did he accidentally behave in this way: saturating sonorous rhymed lines with thieves and yardsticks?
To find the answer, let us turn to the idea expressed by Viktor Pelevin in the novel "Generation II". The most famous Russian writer asserted that at the present time the words we hear through the media and in everyday life are redundant, blurred and empty, and only the thieves' language remains truly sacred. After all, the word has weight in it and you can pay for it with life.
For Boris, a fatalist and an idealist, it was the Word that was the alpha and omega of life. For the Red, a poet who does not rush into words, the real knights were not media figures, and not even the modern youth ("generation P"), and old thieves-lawyers (with some of them he was personally acquainted), who know the price of honor and ready her pay.
Talent is active, talent is bright
If necessary, to defend his reputation in his hometown Boris Borisovich Red, without hesitation, went into a fight. "What will be worth a thousand words, when the strength of the hand is important." However, in his work he was expecting the same tense, but more intelligent fights.
Undoubtedly, he used jargon as a weapon, in an unseemly unequal match between an intellectual talent with a literary marble, primordial deadness, poetic graffiti and snobbery. So, without renouncing the live slang urban language jiggle, he paid tribute to his Sverdlovsk comrades, untimely gone from drugs and disorder. However, the imaginary hooligan Boris the Red, in the opinion of his closest friends, really remained a vulnerable and thin-skinned "book" young man.
The irony of principle
Concerning him, the words of Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky were quite justified: "As if droplets of sweat from pores, the soul oozed from under the skin".
He could not stand false prophets in his homeland, but exposed them intellectually, delicately, in his own creative manner. And the thoughtful reader saw that living with old luggage, the aging idol had long ceased to be a "ray of light." Boris Redhead in a childish way mischievously reminds them, ironically called "aging boys", that talent is not a bloated media interest in a person who has ceased to hear the pulse of an era; it is a Gift from above:
Not understood in the hectic troubled time, unrecognized during his lifetime. Boris the Red drew the negative energy of decadence in the morals and traditions of the Urals society, subject to the provincial crisis.
One of the permanent motives in the work of Boris the Red is the motive of imminent and imminent death. Note that this creative trend is primarily characteristic of the Sverdlovsk party. Accordingly, our poet, romanticizing Yekaterinburg and absorbing his image with all the fibers of his soul, without reckoning, recklessly adopted this pseudo-romantic spirit.
The motif of decadence in creativity
So, he decided ... Is it himself, or is there a place for mysticism? To whom did he address these verses:
To whom can a Christian address so intimately? Only to his own, God-given, guardian angel? And this is what Boris does at will! What the poet of the late twentieth century felt, experienced, calling for his Protector of the heavenly "angel of death" in return. There is no doubt: the poet calls for death!
Is this the fruit of "thoughtlessness", a naively metaphysical delusion inherent in green youth? After all, this is how imaginative people try to imagine themselves, who dare to give weight and significance to their miserable judgments, which are completely remote from the true nature of talent.
How do you want in response to these attempts of people who believe that they are able to explain everything, to make these characters still silent. The words of another talented person come to mind: "As you are not ashamed, take your paws away!" Because, first of all, the poet is Boris the Red, and the usual logic here is powerless.
On the motives of suicide. Variant A (mysticism)
His untimely death, which occurred on May 7, 2001, has numbed relatives and friends. They were perplexed: judging by the hysterical, passionate, sincere attitude to life, the poet Boris Krasny had every chance to live long and happily. Why did he hang himself? It is unlikely that this explanation could be logical in the philistine way, because Boris was the demiurge of the image of the anomalous Ekaterinburg created by himself!
Trying to find the reason for this early departure, we turn to the images of the Strugatsky brothers from the novel "Picnic at the Road".
For Stalker-Boris, by and large, there are two pillars that determine his life: the anomalous Ekaterinburg (the analogue of which in the Strugatsky's novel is the Zone) and poetry, born of one's own soul. Poet Boris Red is positioning himself with the image of the demiurge of his Yekaterinburg, a fairy-tale, unique. Why is he deciding so dearly to create one of the mysterious stories of his city?
This terrible Yekaterinburg legend begins with the fact that Swede friends-poets Boris Ryzhy and Roman Tyagunov in the summer of 2000 announced the organization of a poetic competition for the literary award "Marble" with a strange theme: "On eternity." The list of the jury included Roman Tiagunov, Boris Ryzhy, Oleg Dozmorov and Dmitry Ryabokon.
The guys were delighted. The very organization of the literary action was full of black humor, after all, the funeral firm was the sponsor of creativity! The winners of the poetic competition were awarded a marble book with engraved lines of their verse. However, the organizers were not destined to implement the idea of the competition.
On the eve of 2001, on December 30, Roman Tiagunov fell out of the window and died to death. Behind him to another world on May 7, 2001, the poet Boris Krasin followed. On the eve of the departure from the life of Roman, Boris quarreled with him, and after his funeral began to experience total depression. Before his death, he called his best friend Oleg Dozmorov and talked with him for two hours.
Shocked by the incident, Oleg, burying his closest friend, soon, to his horror, himself began to feel an inexplicable "call of eternity." Deciding to break the deadly chain (see the list of the jury), he left Ekaterinburg for Moscow. Soon, Dozmorov will say in one of his interviews about how dearly this fatal literary myth of Ekaterinburg was created.
On the motives of suicide. Option B (shortest path)
On the other hand, it's hard for a creative person to live, when the public who loves your work constantly gives a soft but relentless pressure, demanding new and new talented things. Attempts by creativity people in this situation to swing, to strengthen their energy with alcohol, drugs are inferior, temporary and lead only to an absolute personal crisis. After all, as is known, the only way of creativity is a flight of inspiration with a pen in hand over a piece of paper.
Boris is not the kind of person who can live happily and ineptly into old age, parasitizing on his once written talented poems! Hence the obvious crisis: you need to change yourself, but how? The poet does not imagine this!
However, there is an old faithful "variant B" of reaching a higher level of recognition, albeit at an excessively high price. Did this redundant algorithm follow Boris Red? The cause of his death is shrouded in mystery. Unfortunately, the early departure of brilliant people has long become a sad trend, their list is well known. As can be seen from the history, the protest of poets against banality, indifference and vulgarity surrounding them occurs in two versions: either through scandal, or by suicide.
The poet feels, foresees his posthumous fame in the Old World. ("Acquire the all-European gloss of the word of the Trans-Asian poet"). And he is right, because the love expressed in his rhymes to his native city, to his people, who suffer humanly from the grayness and despair of the environment, flooding wounds inflicted with indifference, vodka, and from this revealing his soul, unexpectedly beautiful, can not but touch the hearts of ordinary people.
Books by Boris the Red after his death were published in Russia, Germany, Britain, Italy, and several of his poems, translated into Dutch, became hit songs of the "De Kift" group. Strange thing: the real popularity comes to Russian poets only after death, is it not about that sang Vladimir Vysotsky and Igor Talkov? Boris Ryzhy felt it in his own way and expressed in piercing lines:
Paradoxically, but more and more popular in Russia after his death, the poet Boris the Red. His poems touch the soul of readers with their piercing. Killed at the age of Lermontov, he is the Hero of his time, inimitably and irrevocably verse managed to convey the atmosphere of the 90's. The poet is original, unique, he is known and outside of Russia. It is read in translation by the British, Germans, Dutch, Italians. He was also a good friend, a faithful husband, a loving father.
The poet's departure is painfully incomprehensible and tragic. After all, he by nature was extremely intelligent and disciplined. Boris was born for a long, fruitful creativity. This is eloquently spoken by his following lines:
According to serious researchers of his work, the reason for the suicide of the poet Boris Ryzhey was the peremptory acceptance of infernal fantasies of the Ural party. The poet, fueled by the energy of Ekaterinburg, unfortunately, repeatedly and unnecessarily romanticized the theme of leaving the world. And as theaters say, the gun hanging in the scenery on the stage will definitely shoot.
