Spoon-like "cicada" (or Bladebate) has been on sale in stores for over ten years. However, our fishermen underestimate her. And in vain. Indeed, in some states of America it was even banned because of the high catch. Those rybalovy, who tried its capabilities, began to call the lure "cicada" "killer for the perch." But while she is not popular with us.

Lure "cicada" - what is it?

The "cicada" bauble is easily remembered externally. It looks like a ratlin. And not only the appearance, but also the character of the game. A significant difference is the absence of a rattle inside and the possibility of long-distance casting, which allows you to cover a large area during fishing.

Baubles cicada do it yourself

By bait fishing line can be attached in several places. When wiring "cicada" moves nose down, so the power of vibration and angle depend on the connection point. It is necessary to attach the fishing line to the front edge, if using fast posting technique, to the middle - if medium, and to the rear - if slow, respectively. Lures bait bottom in front.

Making spoons "cicada"

Make a spoon "cicada" under force at home. At the same time keep costs to a minimum. That is, you can use the minimum amount of materials and tools located at home. Unless you have to spend money on gypsum (if there is no one on the farm) or ask the neighbors who make repairs. In any case, this material is inexpensive and affordable.

Instruments

The cicada bauble is made by hand using the following tools:

  • chisel;
  • knife;
  • hacksaw;
  • drill;
  • small diameter drills;
  • sandpaper;
  • paste GOI;
  • container for the manufacture of forms of plaster;
  • file;
  • marker;
  • paper;
  • dishes for kneading plaster.

To speed up the process, it is better to use a grinder than a hacksaw. If there are no drills in the farm, then you can make holes for the fastener and hook with the dowel or sharpened twig. GOI paste is used to add shine to the product. For the manufacture of plaster molds, you can use any cardboard box, thin boards, plywood. The material from which it will be made does not affect the quality of the bait. It is better to choose a soft plastic container for mixing plaster. This will simplify and speed up the process of removing residues from it.

As for the material, then for the petals "cicada" need sheet metal. Ideal copper or brass. They are better treated. Sheet thickness should be from 0.4 to 0.8 mm. A thicker petal will play poorly when wiring, and a thin one may not withstand the load. Galvanized tin is also used, which eventually fades, which is well suited for fishing in clear water. Very bright petals in this case can scare the fish. It is important in the process of manufacturing "cicada" not damage the galvanization. If this happens, then it is necessary to polish the petal very well, then it practically does not rust when used.

For the manufacture of cargo for the future bait will need lead. It is better to choose a soft, with antimony in the composition. It will be easier to work with him. From this material is the sheath of the cable. You can take lead from the battery. It is important to observe basic safety during operation. You also need any clay. An exact copy of the cicada will be made from it.

As for gypsum, it will be used to make a mold for casting future bait. You can use dry mixes, which are based on gypsum. They are more durable, although they dry much longer. Well-dried form is enough to cast a few dozen "cicadas."

Manufacturing process

Baubles "cicada" consists of petals. We draw them, we transfer to the sheet of metal. Cut out. We process edges with a file. This petal is used for making others. Then plasticine is taken and a ball is molded out of it, in the middle of which you need to insert a petal and give shape. This is done with a knife and chisel. We seek an exact copy of the "cicada".

Now you need to make a form. To do this, in the prepared box pour divorced plaster. You need to fill exactly half. Put a marker or a pencil inside the container in advance. Gypsum is diluted to the consistency of thick cream. A copy of the "cicada" is oiled (vegetable suitable) and pressed into the mixture by half. Equipping the form with guides will facilitate the combination. For this, bumps from the same material can be used, balls or metal pins.

We leave to dry for a few hours, if you use gypsum, if the mixture is dry, then the drying time will be much longer. Then the surface of the form and "cicada" is again lubricated with oil and the second half is poured. Now you need to dry the product completely. It will take several days. If the form has become light, white, when it hits, the chime comes, which means that it has completely dried out.

Then we draw petals on the metal, cut it out, we clamp a few pieces in a vice and drill holes in the cargo in them, grind it, grind it with emery paper (for this we go from coarse-grained to fine-grained paper), polish it to shine. You can hold a hacksaw for metal. This is necessary for secure attachment of cargo to the petal. We drill several holes for the carabiner (1-3 pcs.), Which makes it easy to change the angle of inclination and frequency of oscillation during wiring. Then, after the form dries, we separate it and with a knife we make a sprue and a channel to let the air out. It is needed to completely fill the form with lead.

When everything is ready, proceed to casting. Before starting, the form is desirable to warm up. Insert the petal and pour the lead. It is better to do it on the street. You need to be extremely careful. A couple of minutes, and the "cicada" is ready. Take out. You can proceed to the next.

Prepare all the petals, and then it is easy to cast 20 baits in half an hour. After treatment with a knife spoon "cicada" is ready for use. If desired, polish with GOI paste. Equip double stings up. Everything. Now the product is finally ready. Such bait practically does not hook. The result is a beautiful spoon "cicada" (photo shown). The work of the bait can be checked in the bathroom. Now on the pond!

The advanced spinningists, and simply the fishermen who tried this type of bait, tell the Internet how the cicada lure is used. Reviews are only positive. It is very effective at catching active fish, and also has a number of positive advantages. For example, the spoon "cicada" covers a large area when casting. An important factor that plays in its favor is the ease and simplicity of self-production.

Success in fishing!
