Appearance in world tennis
Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovich was born on November 6, 1987, and from the age of five she began to seriously get involved in tennis, going to a sports school, trying to become the second Monika Seles - her idol. From the age of 13, a young athlete began performing in junior tournaments, in which she walked very confidently, but won trophies less frequently. The first Serbian trophy won in 2002 in the United States, a year later she received the status of a professional athlete, and in 2004 she was in the top 700 in the WTA ranking.
In the same year, Ana Ivanovich forced to talk about herself as a very talented and promising athlete - in the junior tournament “Wimbledon 2004” tennis player reached the final, where she could not cope with the more experienced Katerina Bondarenko. Nevertheless, for the young Serbian it was a great success, which she consolidated a little later, forcing the two-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams to the tournament in Zurich - an American, being in great shape, won in two sets, but both times she could do it only on tiebreaker
In 2005, Ana Ivanovich managed to win her first trophy in world tennis - this happened at a tournament in Canberra, where, having passed the qualification grid, the Serbian made it to the final, completing the competition with a sure victory. A year later, the tennis player was recognized as the progress of the year in the women's tournament, and in 2007 the first Grand Slam final in the career of Ivanovich was held - in the decisive game she lost to Justine Henin, but she received a very important experience for the future.
Victory on the Grand Slam

From the first matches of the year, Ana Ivanovich began to demonstrate a great game on the court and was able to get to the Australian Open final, where she lost in a bitter struggle against Russian Maria Sharapova.
The failure at the main start of the season only angered the tennis player, and after less than two months she won one of the first personal titles of that year, having beaten another Russian athlete, Svetlana Kuznetsova, in the WTA finals at the Indian Wells tournament, winning two sets.
In the wake of her success, Ana Ivanovich also conducted the Grand Slam “Roland Garros” summer tournament in France - having confidently completed the entire net of the main part of the competition, in the final the Serbian grieved another Russian woman - Dinara Safina, confidently winning two sets.
This success allowed Ivanovich to lead the WTA singles ranking, and on June 9 she was officially recognized as the first racket of the world. Disappointment of 2009
However, after a series of successful performances in the career of tennis players, there was a serious decline. Due to a series of psychological problems, as well as a pair of minor injuries, Ana Ivanovich was unable to win a single trophy for the season, having gone down to 21st place in 2009. Fans did not expect such a failure from their favorite, and a number of foreign media called the Serbian the main tennis disappointment of the year.

The first was another victory in the favorite tournament in Linz, where the Serbian, not having met any Russian on the way, reached the final with little or no serious resistance, where she confidently beat Swiss Patti Schnyder - 6: 1, 6: 2. And afterwards she won the Bali competition - in the final, Ivanovich was once again waiting for the Russian woman - Alisa Kleybanova, losing to her in two sets - 6: 2, 6: 7. The successful performance allowed the Serbian to return to the top 10 of the WTA rating, and as a small bonus, Ana was recognized as the sexiest tennis player on the planet according to the world media.
